Detailed Information

KiKug (“sacred place”) is the nickname given by the Eridish to the small mount in the middle of their city, where they built and are still building the temples dedicated to the city-god, Enki. You will find there the “building site” of the ziqqurrat, the old cemetery site, a shrine to Enki, E-Abzu just like the very first temple ever built in Eridu more than 2000 years ago, and Enki’s garden (more in Eridu guidebook, p. 15-20).
